Black Hills National Forest Campgrounds Now Open

RAPID CITY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Campgrounds in the Black Hills National Forest open on Friday May 17, 2024, for first come first served camping.  Campsites that have been reserved will be available beginning on Wednesday May 22, 2024.

The fees at campgrounds range from $16 to $28.50 a night.  Electricity, sewer and water hookups are not available nor are there showers, but most campgrounds have potable water and vault toilets.

Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and reservations are recommended due to high demand.  For reservations visit http://www.recreation.gov/ or call1-877-444-6777.
