Area Boys State Tournament begins, DWU SB splits games with Northwestern, DWU baseball at home vs Midland, Tiger WBB Round of 16 game tomorrow & Timberwolves dominate Jazz

Today’s Boys State Tournament Games

Class AA:

  • No. 6 seed O’Gorman vs No. 3 seed Huron at 6:45pm MT/7:45pm CT

Class B

  • No. 6 seed Wall vs No. 3 seed De Smet at 6:45pm
  • No. 7 seed Sully Buttes vs No. 2 seed Freeman at 5pm

DWU Softball

The Tiger softball team opened Great Plains Athletic Conference play last night when they faced Northwestern on the road in a doubleheader. They ended up splitting their road trip 1-1 after an 8-3 win in the opening game and then were shutout in the back end of the doubleheader in five innings, 8-0.

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team has a doubleheader on tap today against Midland for GPAC competition. They’ll be playing at home at Drake Field in Mitchell, SD with the first pitch set for 2pm.

DWU Basketball

The No. 9 Tiger basketball team begins play in the Round of 16 in Sioux City, IA tomorrow night. They’ll have punched a ticket to be one of the final 16 teams for the second time in the last three seasons. The No. 2 seed Tigers will face No. 3 seed Lindsey Wilson tomorrow at the Tyson Events Center with tipoff at 1pm.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team is NCAA Tournament bound once again! They will play in the opening round of the tournament tomorrow afternoon. SDSU is the No. 11 seed and are set to face No. 6 seed Washington in Fort Worth, TX at Schollmaier Arena at 1:30pm and the game will air on ESPN News.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Utah Jazz last night at home at the Target Center. No Anthony Edwards, no problem and it was a dominating performance by the Timberwolves as they won 147-111. Ayo Dosunmu led Minnesota with 23 points in the victory, and they improved to 43-27 overall after the win.
