PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Six Mitchell baseball players, Lincoln Bates, Karter Sibson, Landon Waddell, Peyton Mandel, Hudson Haley, and Carter Miller will not face any jail time for their role in a rape investigation.  The six players had been indicted on second-degree rape and aiding and abetting charges.  Each of the accused accepted a plea deal pleading guilty to only being an Accessory to a Felony, prior to sentencing.

On Thursday in court, the judge ruled that all six must do 500 hours of community service and pay a $1,300 fine. Each player was sentenced to three years probation.

The ruling came on Thursday in Pennington County, ending a case that has spanned for over a year.

The case stemmed from an incident during a trip to Rapid City where the Mitchell Legion Baseball Team was supposed to play last year.

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
