PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Eighty-eight people have been charged in South Dakota this summer in connection with drug trafficking. U.S. Attorney Alison Ramsdell says the defendants were indicted between April and August on charges tied to cocaine, fentanyl, and meth. The indictments stem from joint investigations by federal, state, tribal, and local task forces. Major cases included conspiracies moving hundreds of pounds of meth and fentanyl through Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Pierre, and Aberdeen, with ringleaders sentenced to 20 to 36 years in federal prison.
