Mitchell Municipal Band Tuning Up for 2026 Season

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The Mitchell Municipal Band is starting its 2026 concert series at a crescendo.

The first show is title “Nature’s Fury” with the opening notes filling the air around the Hitchcock Park Band Shell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10th. Expect dramatic pieces meant to convey to the ear the feeling one gets from a storm, tornado, or wildfire.

The rest of the schedule is:

June 17 – Destinations
June 24 – Dancing into Summer
July 1 – Ship of Dreams (Music from the Titanic)
July 8 – Patriotic
July 15 – Music in Color
July 22 – Directors Through the Ages
July 29 – A Night at the Movies

Each performance is free to the public and intended to be outdoors. Any changes to the schedule due to weather will be posted to the municipal band Facebook page and announced on local radio stations like KMIT or Kool 98.3.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
