South Dakota’s primary election takes place today although many votes have already been cast. State and county officials report a higher-than-normal number of absentee ballots have been turned in for this primary election, largely due to COVID-19. Davison County Auditor Sue Kiepke says all Davison County residents will vote at the Davison County Fairgrounds. She says social distancing practices will be observed with only one person being allowed to vote at a time at each precinct. There will be plexiglass between the voter and the poll worker. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available. Those who have questions about today’s election should contact their county auditor.

Polls are open today from 7 AM until 7 PM.
