Senator Mike Rounds this morning formally announced his intent to seek re-election to the United States Senate. In a press release, Rounds says he would like to continue to take South Dakota values to Washington. The former governor first won his Senate seat in 2014. He will have to win a primary, as Republican State Representative Scyller Borglum of Rapid City announced her intent to run for the U.S. Senate last summer. Two Democrats – former state legislator Dan Ahlers of Dell Rapids and Clara Hart of Sioux Falls – have announced intentions to run.
