Officials are investigating a plane crash at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport that resulted in the death of a pilot.

The small plane crashed shortly after takeoff around 4 AM Sunday morning. The pilot, an adult male, died in the crash. No one else was on board.

The small, twin-engine cargo aircraft was departing from Sioux Falls and apparently heading to Huron, according to officials.
