Mitchell Man Arrested After Thursday Night Assault

A 26-year old Mitchell man has been arrested following an assault late Thursday night. Just before 11:30 PM, an ambulance was requested for a 58-year old man who had been assaulted at a residence located on the 200 block of West 11th Avenue. Police found the man on the ground unconscious with several injuries. He was transported by air ambulance to Sioux Falls for treatment. He is in stable condition. 26-year old Alexander Bearrobe-Hofwolt was arrested about two hours later after he ran from a police officer on the scene. Bearrobe-Hofwolt was found in a parking lot on the 500 block of South Sanborn. He’s been charged with aggravated assault and obstructing a law enforcement officer. He faces over 15 years in prison if convicted.
