The Mitchell City Council is scheduled to meet this evening at 6 PM at the Corn Palace. There is one agenda item, which passed on first reading last week. It is the second reading of an emergency ordinance to address a public health crisis by implementing certain measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The primary focus of the ordinance is to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by closing areas and businesses where large amounts of people gather. These places include restaurants, bars, recreational facilities, theaters, bowling alleys, and casinos. Some of these may be able to continue operating using take-out, delivery, curbside service, or drive-thru business models.
