Due to the President’s Day holiday yesterday, the Mitchell City Council will meet this evening at 6 PM at City Hall in downtown Mitchell.
The agenda includes consideration of approval of a lease agreement with Mitchell farmer Gene Stehly to farm some city-owned land near Lake Mitchell. The city purchased the land from Harvey and Peggy Kelley to create a wetland. Stehly would practice no-til farming on nearly 125 acres of the land for around $15,500 a year.
Today’s Mitchell City Council meeting is open to the public, is televised locally, and is streamed online. The complete agenda can be found at the city’s website, www.cityofmitchell.org.
