The former finance officer for the city of Tripp was sentenced to three years in prison. Jennifer Friederich will be eligible for parole after serving nine months of her sentence. Friederich embezzled more than $500,000 dollars over nearly a decade. She was ordered to pay restitution and costs of over $550,000. Friederich’s parents took out a loan to pay for the restitution, it was revealed in court. The state recommended that any prison time for the three charges – embezzlement of property received in trust, forgery, and destruction of public records – run concurrently. She has until Friday to turn herself in to authorities.
