Dakotafest Cancelled Due To COVID-19

This year’s Dakotafest has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The announcement was made today on the IdeaAg Group website.  This year marked the 25th anniversary of the ag show, which is held on the Schlaffman farm just outside of Mitchell along I-90.  More than 500 exhibitors participate each year, and nearly 30,000 people attend.  This year’s event had been scheduled for August 18-20th.

The website’s statement read that “we are working on ways to bring some aspects of Dakotafest to our audience in a virtual format for 2020. As plans progress, we will distribute more information about how to take advantage of virtual opportunities.  And while Dakotafest 2020 will not take place in the traditional way, we look forward to using this extra time to work with our exhibitors, sponsors and speakers to bring Dakotafest back in 2021 better than ever. We are going to postpone the celebration of our 25th anniversary until the 2021 event scheduled for August 17-19. We are already planning for new programs, live demonstration space, specialty crop and livestock showcases and much more to make Dakotafest the premier ag event for 2021.”
