That Sinking Feeling: Fisherman Loses Truck After Accidentally Backing Too Far Into Lake

A fisherman ended up losing his truck, his boat and his trailer after backing too far into Chickamauga Lake in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.

Authorities say the man was backing his boat and trailer down the boat ramp and did not realize there was a huge drop-off.

He accidentally submerged his back tire into the water, and was unable to stop the truck from sinking into the lake.

Officials say the driver wasn’t hurt in the incident.

A towing company managed to pull the truck, boat and trailer to shore.

Hamilton County Emergency Management says the boat and trailer are salvageable, but that the truck is a total loss.
