Mitchell High senior Tevyn Waddell is the recipient of the 2016 KMIT Student-Athlete Award. Waddell was presented an engraved watch by Tim Smith at the Mitchell Athletic Banquet on Wednesday night. She is a four-time place winner at the State Track Meet in both the high jump and pole vault, and holds the school record of 11-feet 6-inches in the pole vault. Waddell also holds 34 South Dakota state swimming records and has placed in the top ten in both the winter and summer junior nationals. She has also qualified for the U.S. Olympic trials in three swimming events. She will attend the University of Minnesota and graduates with a GPA of 3.94.
