A firefighter in Los Angeles cooked breakfast for some kids before school after their mother was taken to the hospital.

It isn’t known why the woman was admitted to the hospital, but one of the firefighters stayed behind and made the kids cinnamon-sugar toast. He even helped them get ready for school.

The children’s mother was able to comment on a post the fire department made to thank them for taking care of her kids on one of the “scariest days” of her life.
