Escaped Emu Leads Police On 20-Mile Chase In Tennessee Town

An escaped emu, named MeeMoo led police in a Tennessee town on a 20-mile chase…and then escaped the next day.

The family who owns the escaped emu said the animal got scared by the logging occurring in the area and jumped their 7-foot fence. The family went to social media for help and people began posting videos of MeeMoo roaming throughout the town with the police following close behind.

Officers were eventually able to corner the bird in the downtown area and the owners got MeeMoo under control.

MeeMoo escaped again the next day even after the family increased the height of their fence.

The owners were able to capture the bird in an hour and have now increased the fence to nine feet.
