DWU Coaches resign

Dakota Wesleyan University announced the resignation of two head coaches yesterday.

Longtime women’s softball coach Ed Kieff and men’s soccer coach Jose Lopez are leaving. Kieff announced his retirement after nine years and 147 wins with the women’s softball team.  Both are school records.  His best season was 2016 when the Lady Tigers won 33 games and finished third in the GPAC Conference.  DWU started this past season 8-13 before it ended due to the coronavirus.   Jose Lopez is leaving to accept the head coaching position at Neosho Community College in Kansas, where he was previously an assistant before coming to DWU.  Lopez led the men’s soccer team for three years.

Wesleyan is also looking to fill two other coaching positions before the fall season begins, including the football offensive coordinator position and the assistant men’s basketball coach.
