An American tourist tried to drive a $25,000 Nissan down a tiny footpath but got it stuck– for a week.
She blames her sat nav.
The white Nissan Juke was jammed into the narrow entryway after two American visitors to a popular U.K. seaside town went the wrong way and said their sat nav told them to go in that direction.
The car ended up wedged between two stone walls that border a footpath.
They drove the car until they couldn’t go any further and then had to escape the vehicle by climbing out of the windows because it was so tight.
A mechanic said it was especially difficult to extricate the car as the walls it was wedged between are protected by their Victorian heritage status. They were considering the idea of cutting up the brand-new car.
Instead, the man and his colleagues decided to scrape mud from the footpath so the car’s wheels could get traction.
It took more than four-and-a-half-hours to finish to drag the battered and scraped car back up the footpath to be towed away for repairs.
