9-Year-Old Finishes Chemo, Helps Buy Icee Machine For Future Patients

When a 9-year-old boy finished his chemo, he decided to help buy an Icee machine for future patients– because he hated the smell of coffee.

Logan Stryker began receiving cancer treatment at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.  He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last October, began thinking of a way to have an Icee machine installed as an alternative. Through a driveway lemonade stand fundraiser, Logan raised thousands of dollars. He did so even while undergoing extensive treatments.

Logan eventually raised enough money for the Icee machine, which will be used by patients for years to come.

He said, “I want them to be happier when they come here.”

(Logan recently finished up chemotherapy treatments.)
