Conducted job shadow programs with the Mt. Vernon and Emery High Schools.

Co-Sponsored local job fair with Mitchell Technical Institute in October.  The event was attended
by sixteen area high schools.  Information was presented concerning job opportunities in the
broadcast industry.  Full time staff members of KMIT and KUQL were present throughout the day
to answer questions.

Maintained regular contact with Mitchell High School, Dakota Wesleyan University and Mitchell
Technical Institute, as well as Career Connections and SD Job Service concerning openings
for part-time employment.

OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

Co-sponsored a local job fair in conjunction with Mitchell Technical Institute in
October.  Job fair was attended by 15 area high schools.  Employees staffed
a booth at the fair where students were informed about job opportunities. Full-time staff members were also available to discuss career opportunities.

Participated in the "World of Work" job internship program with Mitchell
High School. High School students interested in the broadcasting field
spend either two or three afternoons each week serving as interns.
High School counselors are Travis Carpernter and Tom Starr.

General Manger Tim Smith conducted a five-week business project with senior
students at DWU who are interested in broadcasting careers. Students conducted weekly interview and question and answer sessions for approximately two hours. Students then prepare senior papers for business class. Final presentations are made to instructor Dr. David Mitchell.

Maintained regular contact with Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell High, and
Mitchell Technical Institute in listing any part-time job opportunities.
Schools are encouraging students to visit the station and complete job
applications.

Student Jeremy Wagner of Parkston, South Dakota spent ten weeks working at the stations in a variety of duties to prepare for a career in broadcasting.

Seminar on Hiring and Interviewing Techniques, conducted by Dave Anderson
attended by GM Tim Smith, BM Lisa Youngstrom, and SM Nikki
Fredericksen.

broadcast field. Director of the program is Scott Fossum of Mitchell High
School.
