Lambert Postpones Animal Charity Gig

Singer Miranda Lambert has been forced to postpone a charity gig as she searches for a larger venue to accommodate the sold-out show.

The country queen was due to host her Cause for the Paws show in her native East Texas but she's had to change her plans after an influx of fans snapped up tickets.

Lambert's mother Beverly, who is helping to organise the event, has assured concertgoers the annual fundraiser will still go ahead in the latter part of 2012.

A statement from Beverly reads, "After much consideration and coordination effort, we have come to the realization that we will no longer be able to host Miranda's annual Cause for the Paws concert in East Texas.

"Due to the enormous turnout with Miranda's growing popularity, we regrettably do not have a venue in East Texas that is suitable for the attendance numbers. We are currently in talks regarding the relocation of the event."

Lambert, a longtime animal rights campaigner, began performing her Cause for the Paws shows in 2008 to raise funds for the Humane Society. (PAW/WNWC/ZN)
