A pursuit in McCook County ended with the arrest of a Sioux Falls man in a cornfield northeast of Emery. 39-year old Jonathon Stahl is charged with aggravated eluding, reckless driving, and driving without a valid driver’s license. South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Casey Bassett says speeds reached 80 miles an hour in the Friday afternoon pursuit, which began around 2:30 pm on Friday.

Bassett said the driver eventually tried to drive into a swamp area and fled the scene to a nearby cornfield.  He surrendered around 5 pm.

Stahl faces over two years in prison if convicted of all charges.
