Mitchell authorities are investigating the theft of a propane truck from Mitchell Technical Institute over the weekend.

The truck, which is used for propane instructional courses at the school, was stolen either Saturday night or Sunday morning. It was driven through a gate at MTI and was found crashed in a field on Sunday morning in Bon Homme County at the intersection of Highways 37 and 50.

The truck rolled on its side and did leak some propane, but there was no explosion. Police do have a suspect in the case, but have not released any other information.
