Mount Vernon Man Hospitalized After Crash

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in a crash that left a Mount Vernon man hospitalized.  49-year old Randall Ferrell is in critical condition in a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Sergeant Robert Meyer with the South Dakota Highway Patrol says the single-vehicle rollover accident happened just after 10:00 on Sunday night on 253rd Street one and a half miles east of Mount Vernon.  Ferrell was not wearing a seat belt.  He was unconscious at the scene and was airlifted to Sioux Falls.  The South Dakota Highway Patrol, Davison County Sheriff’s Office, and Mount Vernon Fire Department were on the scene of the crash.
