Monday Morning Fire Destroys Corsica House

No one was injured in a Corsica house fire which destroyed the home and left a family displaced.  The home is located about five miles southeast of Corsica and is owned by Mike Burke.  Burke and three family members were in the house at the time of the fire.  It started at around 8:00 yesterday morning.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  The American Red Cross is providing temporary housing and assistance for the Burke family.  The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Douglas County Emergency Management, Corsica Ambulance, and Armour Fire Department responded to the fire.
