Mitchell Woman Charged With DUI After Driving Wrong Way On Interstate

A Mitchell woman driving the wrong way on Interstate 90 on Saturday morning was arrested for DUI after sideswiping another vehicle. 24-year old Santana Andrade is charged with second-offense drunken driving and multiple traffic violations. The incident occurred around 2:30 Saturday morning.

Andrade was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate about 2 miles west of Mount Vernon when she sideswiped a vehicle driven by Brittni Butler of Chamberlain.

Andrade suffered minor injuries in the crash. Butler was not hurt.

Andrade faces a possible year in jail if convicted of the DUI offense.
