One of Mitchell’s oldest houses will be demolished after being declared a nuisance by the city.  The house at 205 North Duff Street was built sometime in the 1880′s.  It was damaged by a fire in 2002.  Owners Clarence and Lauretta Larsen have been working to restore it since then.  A hearing was held last week in which testimony was taken from several who noted the lack of progress in the renovation over the past decade.  The council voted unanimously to demolish the house.
