The Mitchell City Council took a first step toward the construction of a new city indoor pool on Monday night by voting to create a fund dedicated to the pool.  The council then voted to supplement the fund with 25,000 dollars to pay for the design of the pool.

The six million dollar pool would be located next to a wellness center to be built by Dakota Wesleyan University on the south side of campus.

A public forum has been scheduled for council to receive input from the public on the pool.  That forum will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at City Hall.
