Marion Man Injured In Crash Near Mitchell


A Marion man was injured in a two-vehicle crash near Mitchell. 38-year old Joshua Schmidt was driving a semi westbound on Highway 38 about eight miles east of Mitchell around 8:30 on Monday morning. An SUV driving by 38-year old Misty Robinson of Fulton drifted into Schmidt’s lane. The two vehicles collided, with Schmidt’s cab separating from the trailer and rolling into the ditch.

Schmidt was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived on the scene. He was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital with minor injuries. Robinson was also taken to the hospital. It is not known if she was injured.

A citation is pending against Robinson.
