Graceland Cemetery In Mitchell Vandalized

Sometime between Monday June 30, 2014 at approximately 5:00 P.M. and Tuesday July 1, 2014 at 7:00 A.M. someone damaged several gravesites and memorials at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Numerous gravesites had damage to solar powered electric lights and other objects were also damaged. The individual or individuals responsible appeared to traveled on foot from the southeast corner of the cemetery to the residential area northwest of the cemetery.

Total dollar loss for the damaged property is expected to be approximately $1,500.00.‎
