The Mitchell City Council voted on Monday night to extend the deadline for bids for the Corn Palace renovation project.  Mitchell Mayor Ken Tracy says pushing for completion of the project by Corn Palace Week would have driven the cost of the project up due to overtime.  Deputy Director of Public Works Terry Johnson says some contractors were not able to put in a bid for the project because of the short time frame of the project and the bid deadline.  Bids will be accepted through May 14th.
