Barn Burns Down Near Mount Vernon


A controlled burn went out of control Tuesday afternoon, destroying a barn south of Mount Vernon.  The fire started shortly after 2 pm.  The controlled burn hit dry grass, spreading to the barn.  No other buildings were damaged, but a semi tractor was also destroyed.  No one was injured.  The Mount Vernon and Ethan Fire Departments responded to the fire.
