‘Selfie,’ ‘Hashtag’ can score points in Scrabble

NEW YORK (AP) — Bromance counts. So does hashtag. You can even score points with selfie.

Those 21st century words are in the new edition of “The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary.” It’s been a decade since the Scrabble dictionary was last updated.

The new words add about 40 pages to the Scrabble-sanctioned dictionary, which already lists more than 100,000 playable words.

The new edition of the last word on Scrabble words will be released next Monday by Merriam-Webster.
