A series of previously unreleased songs by country legend Hank Williams performed on a 1950 radio show is set to be released in May.

The four shows were pre-taped and aired on early country radio stations. The recordings were long thought lost, but bosses at an Iowa radio station kept a copy of the performances in their archives and have since had the 64-year-old tape transferred, restored and mastered.

The project, which features 24 songs and jingles, will be made available for download and on vinyl on May 20 by Omnivore Records.

Williams died in 1953.
