Country music icon Kenny Rogers has been made an honorary master of photography by officials at the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) organization.

The “Islands in the Stream” hitmaker was a special guest at the PPA’s annual Imaging USA conference in Phoenix, Arizona last week, when he took part in a question and answer session with fans and discussed his lengthy career and passion for photography.

Rogers says of the accolade, “You start off doing something because you really love it, and it gives you great pleasure.

“With any luck at all, you get better. It was special to receive the highest honor that my photography has to offer. I felt a little intimidated but very flattered and somehow undeserving. What a thrill!”
