Adam Sandler’s ‘Grown Ups 2′ leads Razzie nominations

Adam Sandler’s critically-panned comedy “Grown Ups 2″ has the dubious honor of leading this year’s Golden Raspberry Award nominations.

The sequel, co-starring Chris Rock, Kevin James and David Spade as a group of reunited childhood pals, has claimed eight nods at the annual prizegiving, which celebrates the worst Hollywood films and performances.

The movie, which earned more than $246 million at the worldwide box office, is up for worst picture, worst sequel, worst ensemble, worst screenplay, worst lead actor for Sandler, worst supporting actor for Taylor Lautner, worst supporting actress for Salma Hayek and worst director for Dennis Dugan.

It is the second consecutive year Sandler has featured prominently at the Razzies – his 2012 film “That’s My Boy” landed eight nominations and two wins at the 2013 show.

Other films in the worst picture category include “The Lone Ranger,” “A Madea Christmas,” “After Earth” and ensemble project “Movie 43.”

The unlucky winners will be announced on March 1, the night before Hollywood’s biggest prizegiving, the Academy Awards.
