The four to six inches of snow in the Mitchell area on Monday is far from a late April record.  On April 28th of 1994 Mitchell recorded an official 10.5 inches of snow.  The latest measurable snowfall for the city of Mitchell fell on May 13th of 1943 when 2.0 inches was recorded.
