Mitchell’s Tessa Dee Crowned Miss South Dakota

Tessa Dee of Mitchell was crowned Miss South Dakota 2013 Saturday night. Her platform is “Project Bookworm”, which reaches out to children on the importance of literacy.  For her talent, she performed a gymnastics dance to “Bad” by Michael Jackson.  Dee won the preliminary swimsuit award Wednesday night. She is 22 years old and is a graduate of the University of South Dakota in the field of health science.  The pageant took place in Hot Springs.  Tessa Dee will represent South Dakota at the 2014 Miss America pageant in Atlantic City in September. The pageant will be televised on ABC.
