After a discussion that lasted for more than an hour, the Mitchell City Council on Monday night voted against adding an auxiliary gym to the Corn Palace. Next Generation Corn Palace Committee Chairman Doug Dailey presented three proposals to the council. One would have expanded the Corn Palace to the north. The other two added expansions to the south of the tourist attraction. The council voted 6-2 against all three proposals.
