A groundbreaking for a renovation project for the Mitchell Public Library was held on Friday morning. City officials, representatives from the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, library staff, and others attended. $2.3 million dollars was appropriated for the project. The construction could take 12-15 months, as the library will stay open during the project. Changes include an expanded meeting room, a book sale room, a teen room, an expanded adult reading space, children’s reading space, and a circulation desk.
