Wilson Gives 2014 City Of Mitchell Budget Review

At Monday night’s Mitchell City Council meeting, City Finance Officer Marilyn Wilson gave the 2014 budget review.  The total city budget for 2014 is just over 35.5 million dollars.  The largest expense for the city is salaries and benefits, at nearly 13.3 million dollars, or 37 percent of expenses.  The city’s largest source of revenue is from property, sales, and other taxes at just over 17 million dollars, or 48 percent of revenues.
