Two Females Hospitalized After Crash Near Ethan

Two juvenile females are hospitalized after rolling a vehicle last night near Ethan.  The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the two walked away from Our Home, which is a treatment facility in Parkston, just after 10:30 pm Tuesday night.  The two stole a vehicle, which was located on Highway 37 near Ethan.  A Davison County deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, and the girls fled, driving down a gravel road northeast of Ethan.  The vehicle rolled and the two girls were ejected.  They were taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell with serious injuries.  The girls were not wearing seat belts.  Speed was a factor in the accident, but it does not appear alcohol or drugs were factors.  Charges are pending against the pair.
