RENNER, S.D. (AP) — State Sen. Shantel Krebs is running for secretary of state in South Dakota.
Krebs told attendees at the Lincoln County Lincoln-Reagan Day dinner Saturday night that she would be seeking the Republican nomination for the office in 2014.
Krebs says she plans to make voting rights a top priority. She also says the secretary of state’s office plays a key role in economic development and ensuring a strong business climate.
Secretary of State Jason Gant announced earlier this month that he won’t seek re-election.
