SD Revenue Department Expanding Online List Of Tax Delinquents

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Revenue Department has expanded an online report to identify a larger number of businesses that are delinquent in paying state taxes.

The department can publicly list those who owe sales tax, use tax, tourism tax, municipal tax, municipal gross receipts tax, contractor’s excise tax, motor vehicle leasing tax or telecommunications gross receipts tax if a lien has been filed against those people.

The list displays the top delinquent taxpayers owing the largest amount of tax, along with how much they owe.

State business tax director Doug Schinkel says the online report helps the Revenue Department collect delinquent taxes. He says expanding the report to include more delinquencies will support collection efforts.
