Police Identify Sioux City Murder Victim

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Police have identified a Sioux City, Iowa, man whose body was found in a roadside ditch in southeastern South Dakota.

Sioux City police Lt. Mark Kirkpatrick says 20-year-old Adrian Rojas Hernandez, of Sioux City, was killed by a single gunshot to the head.

Lincoln County Sheriff Dennis Johnson says Hernandez’s body was discovered about noon Sunday by a driver on a gravel road between Canton and Sioux Falls. Johnson says there had been an attempt to set the man’s body on fire.

Sioux City police have one man in custody and are searching for another in the death. Kirkpatrick says all three were acquaintances and were together earlier in the evening.

Police were working to pull an arrest warrant on the second suspect Monday afternoon.
