Plankinton Teen Pleads Guilty In Shooting

A Plankinton teen has pleaded guilty in a shooting that occurred in June on Interstate 90 in Hanson County.  18 year old Logan Evans pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault for shooting 17 year old Nick Lawson.  On June 22nd, Evans, Lawson, and two other passengers were on their way to Sioux Falls.  Evans pointed a pistol at Lawson and pulled the trigger, thinking the gun was not loaded.  Lawson was shot in the chest.  He was airlifted to Sioux Falls and underwent surgery.  Evans initially pleaded not guilty to several charges.  In exchange for his guilty plea, three other charges were dropped.  Sentencing has been set for November.
