One Female Injured In Shooting In Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Residents of a Sioux Falls apartment building have been evacuated after an early morning shooting.

Police say a 19-year-old woman was shot about 4 a.m. Friday and taken to a hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Some streets in the area were blocked off for a time while officers searched for a suspect. Normal traffic was restored by midmorning.

Authorities say the shooter was an acquaintance of the woman. Police did not immediately identify the suspect.
