Mitchell VFW Votes To Accept City’s Offer

Mitchell VFW Commander Pat Ziegler says that the VFW members have voted to accept the city’s offer of 175,000 dollars to buy the VFW building.  The vote was held Tuesday night. The VFW shared a common wall with the former Longhorn Bar building, which the city purchased and demolished earlier this year.  The Longhorn had been declared a public nuisance after a wall collapse forced its closure last November.  A temporary wall was built for the VFW while a long term decision was made.  The situation caused the VFW to be closed for over a month.  Ziegler says the VFW is looking at a couple of sites for re-location of the Mitchell VFW.
