Mitchell Police Investigating Two Burglaries

Sometime from 8:30 p.m. on Friday November 29, 2013 to 7:30 a.m. on Saturday November 30, 2013, a person or persons forcibly entered Rob’s Short Stop located at 215 N. Burr by breaking a glass door.  The following items were stolen:  3 cartons of Marlboro red cigarettes, 9 single hard boxes of Marlboro cigarettes, 2 cases of Bud Light beer (12 oz. cans), 1-18 pack of Bud light beer (12 oz. cans). The stolen items and the damaged property were valued at around $700.

On Sunday December 1, 2013 at approx. 4:05 a.m. Lewis Drug located at 1507 N. Main Street in Mitchell was forcibly entered.  It appears that the suspect or suspects cut a hole in a wall of the building and entered through that hole.  It appears that the suspect was scared off by the building alarm.  There does not appear to be anything missing from the building.  The damage to the building was valued at approx. $750.

It is not known if these two burglaries are connected to each other.
